Kurt Schuster is a Financial Consultant, and the owner and founder of QOLity Financial. He and his team guide clients throughout the country on financial issues including retirement planning, portfolio management and tax planning. He has worked within the finance industry for nearly 20 years.
Kurt graduated from Northwood University with a dual degree in Finance and Accounting before obtaining his CHFC (Chartered Financial Consultant) and CFP® (Certified Financial Planner™) designations. To enhance his tax planning specialty, he earned his EA (Enrolled Agent with the IRS). Kurt is also a LPL-registered securities principal and holds his Property & Casualty, and Life, Accident & Health insurance licenses.
While in college, Kurt was a summer intern at a major insurance and investment firm. During that time, he saw the direct impact tailored advice could have on individuals and found a passion for personal finance. After graduation, he started his first job as a financial consultant with a regional firm, where he worked for nine years. In 2010, Kurt opened his own practice – QOLity Financial. His goal was, and still is, to find a better ‘Quality Of Life’ through a balanced work-life approach for both clients and staff.
His firm specializes in helping individuals between the ages of 35 to 75 with an identifiable retirement goal. He has extensive experience working with clients with complicated financial situations, including wealth transfer, pending retirement and dual income households.
Kurt recently joined the Board of the Futures Foundation after learning about the magnitude of unmet needs within the local developmentally disabled population. He was inspired to be an advocate and help the Futures Foundation set an example for what is possible in our community, Michigan and beyond. Kurt also volunteers as a youth football coach, provides financial literacy education to the underserved, and actively supports the St. Lawrence Catholic community along with various other children’s charities.
